Quebec Time Zone

Most of Quebec, including the capital Quebec and the province's largest city Montreal, uses Eastern Standard Time (EST) during standard time and Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) during Daylight Saving Time (DST).

By area, Quebec is the largest province in Canada, and although it is the second most populated province in the country, it is sparsely populated. Because of the large geographical size, some locations follow time zones closer to the mean solar time.

Atlantic Time on Îles de la Madeleine

Atlantic Time (AT) is used in the municipalities Îles de la Madeleine, including Cap-aux-Meules, and Grosse-Île. The municipalities are part of a small archipelago in the Gulf of Saint Lawrence and are geographically closer to the islands of Newfoundland and Labrador than mainland Quebec.

Atlantic Standard Time (AST) is used during standard time, and Atlantic Daylight Time (ADT) is used during DST.

Blanc-Sablon on Atlantic Standard Time

Blanc-Sablon, and some locations east of 63° west longitude, observes Atlantic Standard Time (AST) with a UTC offset of -4.

Blanc-Sablon and the surrounding areas do not use DST and stay on UTC-4 all year. Labrador, on the other side of the border, follows the same time zone—Atlantic Standard Time—during the winter months.
